2 Year Old Provision

Welcome to our Tiny Seeds Nursery

Welcome to our wonderful, exciting and highly sought after two year old provision. This is our 1st year of running our Tiny Seeds Nursery for 2 year old children. The Nursery is going from strength to strength especially with the experienced staff we have running the room. From the minute you step into the room you are immersed in a caring, friendly and safe environment, carefully and purposefully organised for our youngest learners.

Our Teaching Team

Miss Walker is our two-year-old provision lead, and we are supported by Miss Ash and Mrs Wilson.

A Typical Day in Tiny Seeds

In Tiny Seeds, our two‑year‑olds are busy learners. They make sense of the world through play, movement and lots of interaction with the people around them. We provide a calm and caring space where early language and social skills grow naturally through everyday experiences.

We start the morning by coming together for a short carpet time. We share daily news, sing simple songs, rhymes and pictures to help children settle and begin using their voices. This gentle routine helps them feel safe and ready for the day.

Most of the session is spent exploring. Children choose where they want to play and what they want to investigate. They might be filling and emptying containers, climbing outside, sharing books, building with blocks or joining friends in the home corner. These everyday play experiences support important early language skills as children hear new words, practise taking turns and learn how to communicate their needs.

Social skills develop throughout the morning. Two‑year‑olds are still learning how to play alongside others, how to share and how to manage big feelings. Adults are close by to help support these moments. We model language such as “my turn”, “your turn”, “help please”, and “stop, I don’t like that”, and we give children time to practise simple routines that build confidence.

Snack time gives children a chance to sit together and talk with adults and friends. This relaxed time helps develop early independence and encourages children to communicate their choices.

We are also part of the toothbrushing scheme. This means we brush our teeth daily in class in addition to brushing teeth at home. This is to teach us about oral health and how to keep ourselves healthy.

We end the session with a short story or some songs. This brings everyone together again and helps children develop listening skills, early attention and a love of books.
